ITALY MOULD PROJECT · CONCRETE FORMWORK BLOCKS
HAWEN Prepares a Custom Concrete Formwork Block Mould for Delivery to Customer in Italy
Hawen Machinery is preparing to ship a custom hollow block mould
to a customer in Italy. Designed for use with a 1100 × 1100 mm
production pallet, the mould will produce hollow concrete formwork
blocks. The project includes confirmed mould-to-machine interface
drawings, along with a customer-requested modification to
facilitate demoulding.

PROJECT BACKGROUND
From Supplier Comparison to Cooperation with HAWEN
The customer first contacted Hawen Machinery last year while
evaluating several mould suppliers. Following discussions and
a comparison of the available proposals, the customer selected
HAWEN to manufacture this custom hollow block mould for
formwork block production.
After the order was confirmed and the advance payment was
received, the Hawen team began reviewing the technical drawings
with the customer, translating the agreed requirements into
a confirmed mould design.
TECHNICAL DRAWING REVIEW
Mould and Machine Interface Drawings Confirmed Before Manufacturing
A custom mould project requires clear agreement on both the
concrete product and the equipment interface details. The
Hawen team worked with the customer to review and confirm
the mould drawings and the mould-to-machine interface
drawings before manufacturing.
The mould is designed for use with a 1100 × 1100 mm production
pallet. With the customer's formwork block application in
mind, both parties reviewed the design and interface
requirements, using the confirmed drawings as the basis
for production.

and mould layout for the Italian project.
Project focus: Confirm the formwork block mould design, production pallet
size and machine interface details before proceeding
with manufacturing.
CUSTOM MOULD CORE DETAIL
Core-Top Openings Added to Assist Demoulding
Demoulding was a particular focus during the design review.
At the customer's request, openings were added at the top
of the mould cores while retaining the existing demoulding
taper. This modification was incorporated to assist the
release of the freshly formed formwork blocks.
The request was addressed as part of the drawing confirmation
process, allowing the customer and the Hawen team to establish
the required structural detail before manufacturing.
Confirmed Design Details
- Existing demoulding taper retained.
- Openings added at the top of the mould cores.
- Modification incorporated at the customer's request.
- Design details confirmed through technical drawings.
DELIVERY PREPARATION

preparation for delivery to Italy.
From the initial supplier comparison to order confirmation,
drawing review and the mould core modification, communication
between the customer and the Hawen team helped define the
technical requirements at each stage of the project.
This project brings together the customer's formwork block
requirements, a 1100 × 1100 mm production pallet and a
specific demoulding modification in one custom mould solution.
PROJECT QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What will this mould be used to produce?
The mould will produce hollow concrete formwork blocks.
These blocks serve as permanent formwork and can be dry-stacked
to accommodate reinforcing steel and a concrete infill.
The structural performance of the completed wall, including
any seismic resistance, depends on the engineered wall design,
materials, construction details and applicable local requirements.
What production pallet size is used for this project?
The mould is designed for use with a 1100 × 1100 mm
production pallet.
What modification did the customer request?
The customer requested openings at the top of the mould
cores to assist demoulding, while retaining the existing
demoulding taper.
Which drawings were confirmed?
The Hawen team and the customer confirmed the mould drawings
and the mould-to-machine interface drawings before manufacturing.
